We did the 5 mile hike in the morning and ended up on top of Angels Landing around noon, right when the sun was way too harsh to shoot. So we decided to climb down and have lunch then make the hike up again in the afternoon. The second time ascending this massive cliff was extremely tough and one of the most strenuous things I've had to do. The difficult hike made it all the more worth it when we made it to the peak right as the sun was setting over the valley giving us the most beautiful light to shoot in.
We shot as much as we could before the sun faded away then rushed down to make the last bus picking up the few hikers left on the trail. It was an incredible time and one of the most exhilarating moments of my life; completely recommend doing this hike even though it was very narrow at some points and you're literally hanging on to a chain the last leg of the hike as you climb to the peak.
Had a couple people ask how I did the blur chroma effect so I made a quick tutorial to show how to achieve the effect on my most recent instagram post. Quick and Easy effect anyone can do!
Had an incredible time shooting at South By this year. The Story So Far headlined and of course they had an amazing set, I love when artists just love to have fun and play their music.
Four Year Strong has always had a great influence on me and my music choice, being able to shoot their 10 year anniversary show for the first album I ever heard from them was a dream come true. One of the best events I've gotten to shoot so far.
Ryan sent us to an incredible location in Denton, Tx.
It was beautiful seeing the vines making their way through the building. The lighting could not have been any better. Of course, shot wide open on the Sigma 35mm 1.4 art series lens to get as much as that gorgeous light as possible. Great little Denton secret to explore.
This gem of a place was so much fun to visit. We stopped here on our way to Utah and it was 100% worth it. The sun was about to set when we entered the park so we only had a little bit of time to walk about and shoot but we still had a great time. The first photo was taken on my iPhone 7+ and editing in Lightroom Mobile.
What an incredible journey we had making the hike up Lost Mine Trail. I was extremely surprised by how well the iPhone 7 plus could capture the colors in the sunrise. I captured this shot with the second camera on the iPhone 7 plus.
It really is amazing that we have such power devices that fit in our pockets. As a photographer who just wants to capture beautiful moments and doesn't care too much about the gear thats used to capture it. It's very relieving having a phone like the iPhone 7 Plus to pull out and capture extremely detailed images so quickly. I find myself using the new iPhone on so many shoots just because its so fast.
I am very much looking forward to the next shots that I capture using the iPhone 7 plus.
It's always so spectacular getting to see the past and present forms of human ingenuity.
Seattle was incredible; we visited the famous Snoqualmie Falls and had a great time hanging out in the bay beneath them. There were views for days out there, I cannot wait to go back and visit again.
