Angels Landing in Zion National Park

We did the 5 mile hike in the morning and ended up on top of Angels Landing around noon, right when the sun was way too harsh to shoot. So we decided to climb down and have lunch then make the hike up again in the afternoon. The second time ascending this massive cliff was extremely tough and one of the most strenuous things I've had to do. The difficult hike made it all the more worth it when we made it to the peak right as the sun was setting over the valley giving us the most beautiful light to shoot in.

We shot as much as we could before the sun faded away then rushed down to make the last bus picking up the few hikers left on the trail. It was an incredible time and one of the most exhilarating moments of my life; completely recommend doing this hike even though it was very narrow at some points and you're literally hanging on to a chain the last leg of the hike as you climb to the peak.

SOUTH BY SO WHAT MUSIC FEST 2017

Had an incredible time shooting at South By this year. The Story So Far headlined and of course they had an amazing set, I love when artists just love to have fun and play their music.

Four Year Strong has always had a great influence on me and my music choice, being able to shoot their 10 year anniversary show for the first album I ever heard from them was a dream come true. One of the best events I've gotten to shoot so far.

For an older group of guys they still move around extremely fast. It was a little tough to aim around and photograph them but nonetheless a blast to be up close jamming to their set.

Abandoned Nursing Home

Ryan sent us to an incredible location in Denton, Tx.

It was beautiful seeing the vines making their way through the building. The lighting could not have been any better. Of course, shot wide open on the Sigma 35mm 1.4 art series lens to get as much as that gorgeous light as possible. Great little Denton secret to explore.

Peak of Lost Mine Trail [ SHOT ON iPhone 7 Plus ]

What an incredible journey we had making the hike up Lost Mine Trail. I was extremely surprised by how well the iPhone 7 plus could capture the colors in the sunrise. I captured this shot with the second camera on the iPhone 7 plus.

It really is amazing that we have such power devices that fit in our pockets. As a photographer who just wants to capture beautiful moments and doesn't care too much about the gear thats used to capture it. It's very relieving having a phone like the iPhone 7 Plus to pull out and capture extremely detailed images so quickly. I find myself using the new iPhone on so many shoots just because its so fast.

I am very much looking forward to the next shots that I capture using the iPhone 7 plus.

NEWSHA

Dallas, Art District

This was such a pleasant spot, the light from the staircase really helped provide light within the garage. This was shot wide open at f1.4 with an ND filter to help capture the colors from the sunset. Later in Lightroom the whites and highlights were turned down in the background.

The backdrop for the night. Thank you Texas for coming through with the sunset.

Cruz Wedding
We had an amazing time traveling out to Kyle, Texas just south of Austin to shoot this lovely wedding. This is one of my favorite movements I captured right as Crystal saw herself in her dress for the first time on the day of her wedding.

Right before we walked out to the spot for photos of the wedding party, I captured Jerson standing completely ecstatic; a sense of bliss only a newly married man can carry. This was a shot I captured on the fly with the 35mm 1.4 Sigma Art series lens, even on a cropped Canon 7D I still love the way it captured the scene. The sun was shining bright behind him, I set the camera to 1/2500th of a second to cut out the hard sun because I was shooting wide open with the 1.4 lens.
